Patriots Path Program

A program initiated by the White House Commission on the National Moment of Remembrance for elementary school children. This program was launched in December with a special project called "Pennies from Heaven". This project had the children collect pennies to help buy specially designed remembrance gifts for children who lost a loved one in the September 11th attacks. This positive act by the children was a way for them to respond to and cope with the impact of the tragedy.

The Patriots Path Program is designed to provide ways for children to put patriotism into action. It teaches them about patriotism and the American spirit, including the idea that even a small act, when we work together, can make our country stronger and able to endure anything. It helps them connect as Americans.
